Job Description: Project Engineer Job specification: The primary duty will be to support the project related activities (engineering, procurement, quality assurance) for assigned projects on local Chinese market under consideration of our customer’s requirements, assuring the full technical and commercial success of our compressor plant projects from sales until commissioning. General tasks will be Support of project managers in our Swiss head office technical support of our Chinese customers Preparation of technical specifications and drawings for compressor plant related auxiliaries (mainly pressure vessels and process piping) Cooperation with local sub-suppliers for procurement of auxiliary equipment Expediting and survey of sub-suppliers Scheduling, coordination and control of ongoing projects and sub-orders (in cooperation with procurement department) Interface with sales and customer support service Support our sales team during tender negotiations Technical design and review meetings with our customers Area of work: The project engineer will work as a part of the local project team in our Shanghai office and will be the direct link between our project managers in Switzerland and our Chinese customers and sub-suppliers. He will work in a team of 3-5 people, whereas his responsibility will be the sizing, design and specification for major accessories for compressor plants, such as: electrical motors (asynchronous and synchronous type, explosion proof, power consumptions up to 2.5 MW) pressure vessels (acc. GB-150 and ASME requirements) tubular shell and tube heat exchangers (acc. GB-151, TEMA code and ASME requirements) piping material (acc. ASME B31.3) valves (pressure safety valves acc. API526 std., gate, globe, ball, check etc. – acc. ANSI/ASME requirements) skid mounted lube oil units for reciprocating compressors Working process is defined by our internal process descriptions, an included part of our ISO9001 quality management system. Starting from the tender preparation, he takes over the responsibility for the successful engineering, manufacturing and delivery of the components in terms of quality and commercial success of the project, also with respect to the boundary conditions given by the contractual terms with our clients. In his responsibility, he will have to expedite and survey our sub-suppliers frequently during the manufacturing process, together with our quality engineers and 3rd party inspectors Daily close cooperation with the project managers from our Swiss head office (by email and phone) will be required as well as the participation at technical meetings with international customers.
